Catalyst bed support media

MTE has two standard types of catalyst bed support media: ‘Rest-O-Cat® 55 and Rest-O-Cat® 99’. Used in typical refinery applications and processes, where the standard inert ceramic grading is not resistant like ammonia or ethylene. Beside these two standards, we can produce on special request based on the fact we have our own raw materials.

Rest-O-Cat 70 Inert Ceramic Balls

MTE has developed the inert ceramic sphere. The Rest-O-Cat® 70 inert ceramic balls are able to withstand higher mechanical forces. An additional strength is achieved by increasing the alumina content and an increased curing temperature to gain more mechanical resistance.

Rest-O-Cat 80 Inert Ceramic Balls

The Rest-O-Cat® 80 inert ceramic ball is developed according to Gost 473.5-81. 
The alumina content is different in comparison with our standard ceramic balls. This type has a higher resistance against thermal shock.

Rest-O-Cat® 99 high alumina balls

The Rest-O-Cat® 99 high alumina balls have an content of 99.3% alumina. Mainly used in typical applications where the standard silica based ceramic spheres are not suitable due to chemical resistance, temperature resistance or mechanical strength.

Rest-O-Cat® 99.7 high purity alumina balls.
The Rest-O-Cat® 99.7 high purity alumina balls contain an ultra low silica content (< 0.1%). The high degree of purity (AI203 > 99.7%) and strength are making the product suitable for high temperature and steam applications, where leached silica can coat downstream equipment or foul / poison the catalyst bed.
