Column packing
MTE Process technology
MTE Process technology offers a variety of conventional column packing as well as high performance column packing, as listed below.
Metal random packing
Metal random packing is widely used for absorption, fractionation and stripping applications. With its ability of reducing pressure drop and low costs for production, the metal random packing is very suitable in processes which are, for example, heavenly fouled or internals which require frequently replacing of the packings due to corrosive flows.

Benefits
- Excel in fouling media
- Good mechanical strength
- More efficient use of packing surface
- Lower pressure drop
- Higher capacity

Benefits
- High performance
- Large effective interfacial area
- Significant improvement in capacity compared to Pall Rings
- Geometry ensures low liquid hold-up
- High mechanical strength

Benefits
- Good liquid/gas distribution and high mass transfer efficiency
- High temperature applications
- Mechanically robust, lesser probability of breakage
- High resistance to fouling
- Multiple materials available

Benefits
- Simple construction
- Mechanically robust
- Proven concept
- Various materials
Plastic random packing
The application fields of the individual plastic materials are determined by chemical resistance, temperature stability and mechanical strength. With its ability of high resistance against fouling, plastic random packing distinguishes itself from metal random packings. Due to the low production costs of plastic packings, this material is very suitable for replacing the packings on a regular base.

Benefits
- High capacity properties
- Energy saving
- Less down time due to less fouling
- Very efficient mass transfer
- Smaller tower diameters

Benefits
- Good liquid/gas distribution and high mass transfer efficiency
- High temperature applications
- Mechanically robust, lesser probability of breakage
- High resistance to fouling
- Multiple materials available
Structured packing
MTE offers both conventional and high performance structured packing. Basically the high performance structured packing has an even lower pressure drop, which means they commonly used to upgrade existing systems by replacing a conventional structured packing.

Benefits
- Low pressure drops
- Higher capacities
- Higher efficiencies
- Reduced liquid hold up
- Lower energy consumption

Benefits
- High surface area, high number of theoretical stages per meter
- High gas capacity
- Low pressure drop per meter
- Low liquid loads possible
- Very suitable in corrosive applications
